Sunday we worked on installing the new sliding glass doors. This is a 6'-8" by 10'-0" unit....two movable doors in the middle and two fixed panels on the ends. I don't know how much these weigh but I'd guess at least 100lbs each. The glass is impact rated for hurricanes which means heavy. The worst part of all this is that the track, composed of the sill, header and jambs, is held in place by 60 tapcon screws. Each screw is installed into concrete by first drilling a hole with a hammer drill. Needless to say, installing 60 of these buggers was not fun.
